We are now seeking passionate, enthusiastic and motivated Product Development Technologist to join our Innovation & Development team based in Geraldine to assist in delivering on our exciting NPD project plans.
With the continued global movement toward healthy lifestyle and consumers seeking value-added food choices we are looking to bring to our team a product developer with knowledge of functional foods.
Reporting directly to our Innovation & Development Manager, the successful applicant will drive innovation and development of new products with focus on the needs of the health-conscious consumer. The company's growth is driven by its focus on new ideas and its ability to convert these into commercial reality on time and within agreed cost and procurement constraints. You will take responsibility for all facets of the product development process from concept to commercialisation. Cross-functional communication is critical, so the successful applicant must be capable of building strong relationships across the business to ensure we continue to deliver on our ambitious NPD plans.
Key responsibilities will include:
Drive new product development, from concept through to launch, following the companies NPD process and systems.
Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure successful introduction of new products, processes and technologies into production.
Research innovation in functional ingredients and finished products. Transform this research from idea to product.
Improve existing products and processes and provide technical support to internal teams.
The successful applicant will have:
A Food Science degree or similar with 5+ years experience within the food industry
Strong and demonstrated interpersonal skills
Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills.
The ability to make quick, robust project decisions utilising depth of technical and analytical techniques.
You will also be passionate about crafting great food, have an entrepreneurial and innovative approach and be an energetic self-starter and team player.
