We require experienced Medical Care Assistants to join our rapidly growing service at Silverdale Medical.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide primary care support, patient interventions and treatment within the Medical Centre. You will work collaboratively with the general practice team providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and individual holistic care to patients.
The role is very hands on working directly with Doctors which requires someone to carry out the following duties:- Meeting and greeting patients and assisting with patient assessments, routine examinations and diagnostic tests (i.e. blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight, and BMI)
- Daily planning, completing patient dashboards as required, and booking patients in
- Observe for changes in patients' health status and communicate observations in a timely manner
- Act as a chaperone as required
- Work within scope of training, practice, and competencies at all times
- Ensure all communication is comprehensive, logical, legible, clear, and concise
- Know the general principles of first aid and resuscitation and be able to undertake initial actions as appropriate
Our ideal candidate will have:- Previous experience in a primary care or hospital setting with direct patient care
- A current First Aid / CPR Certificate and a commitment to ongoing learning and education
- Ability to work independently and within a small team
- Resilience and work well under pressure
- Ability to follow instruction under direction and deal with difficult situations
- Confident computer and keyboard skills and the ability to pick up new systems
- The availability to work flexible hours
- A positive, helpful, and kind demeanour
- Good communication skills and be a good listener
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Attention to detail and shows initiative
