In the first 6 months of 2010 NZ's monthly job ads grew by 50%, from 14,500
in January to 21,750 in June.
July's figures are just in, showing that while vacancies rose
slightly they are levelling off around the 22,000 level.
Strong employment recovery during early 2010 caused the
biggest reduction ever seen in unemployment, which dropped
from 7.1% down to 6.0% in the March 2010 quarter.
However we're far away from the boom levels of 32,000
monthly vacancies and 3.5% unemployment last seen in early
2008.
